The Amalgamated Association of Internet Poltergeists
The Amalgamated Association of Internet Poltergeists is a completely fictional organization created entirely for the pleasure of the very real poltergeists living inside Matt Kane’s Brain. They are dedicated to a sole purpose:the absolute freedom of information. To go about this, they will break laws, access code, protocols, and sometimes even reality. They spend much time either street-fighting in CybArenas if their own devising with lots of traps and pits, or hacking into computers for purposes ranging from global thermonuclear warfare to “borrowing” a nickel from a neighbor’s credit limit. When I say freedom of information, I do not mean knowledge. The AAIP does not officially care about anything other than computers and private information. Although there are those of them who play Magic and Nintendo and D&D, most of their energy focuses on illegal upgrades for their terminals. They have stores in several major cities (Boston, for one) which sell many banned hardware items. They may also sell video game copiers and other such nonsense. I know these stores are real because I’ve seen one in a dream ;)
If you would like more information on the AAIP, or would like to join them, write to their central server at moc@vogon.www.net. However, your mail will be read by at least seven different novice members andwill probably go through encryption several times. If you do not trust, I will not blame you. You should try calling their 800 number. I don’t know what it is this week, so I can’t help you, but last week it was 800-433-3565. The opening message is a test to see how much disgusting material you can handle. It ranges from mildly offensive (Rush Limbaugh) to openly perverted (unfiltered Internet). If you pass, you will be cut off. If you fail, you will get info on how to contact the AAIP more efficiently.
